Weeks after COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic by the W.H.O., I was invited by the Helen Day Art Center to host a virtual studio visit for the exhibition “Love Letters”, in which works of mine were included. I wasn't making art. The virus created holes in our lives, which each of us had to invent ways to close or cover. Making the video gave me a chance to formalize questions: What sort of art to make now? How to represent what we were all living through according to my own unique circumstances, location and time? The 'letter' was a start.
